About Us

Our core belief is that every special moment in life, no matter how big or small, is worth celebrating.

“I’m Katie Luna. I am obsessed with sweets, entertaining, wedding cakes, and most importantly, my family of 5 (well, 7 if you include my fur babies).  We live a hustled suburban life, but make a point to slow down and frequently share a bite together, along with stories of our daily adventures.  Whether you live in the busy city, or amidst the hustle of suburbia, or in the quiet of the country, my hope is to unite us by connecting with tradition, embracing nostalgia, and reinventing classic dessert recipes.”

When I was a kid, dinner was on the table at exactly 5:30pm everyday accompanied by a fresh baked dessert.  Pies, cookies, cakes, pastries & fruit dishes were all a part of our normal life. We weren’t overweight, unhealthy, or inactive; to the contrary, we were super healthy, thin as rails, and very active. There was no need for us to overindulge because all of the good things we wanted were readily available for our scheduled family dinner.

I often recall my friends coming over after school, while my mom was preparing dinner. They would sit on the bar stools across the counter from her while she fed them warm cookies- fresh from the oven-paired with a glass of milk, and lots of love.  As a teenager, I was completely unable to appreciate this lifestyle. In my mind, my family was old-fashioned, out-dated, and way too structured for my liking- I may have even been slightly embarrassed.  But, these days, I long for structure. I long for the nostalgia of my childhood.  I long for the days of sitting across the counter from my mom, telling her about my day, watching her prepare our dinner and a fresh baked dessert.  Those are the days that molded me into who I am now…. Don’t get me wrong, I am not my mom… I couldn’t get dinner on the table at the same time two days in a row if I tried, and we are lucky if we’ve all eaten by 8:00pm (which often times includes going to our favorite, local drive-thrus). But, we eat together, we laugh together, we pray together, and we carry on the tradition of good food, good desserts, family & friends.

As much as I love my mom’s cooking, I’m obsessed with her baking.  My favorite memory in the kitchen with my mom is our Christmas baking day.  We would begin early in the morning and bake all kinds of breads, cakes, cookies, candies, and caramel corn. We would festively package trays, tins, and baskets and deliver them to neighbors, friends and family that lived close by. Those times in the kitchen with my mom gave me a love for sharing sweets with others. The pure joy that came across people’s faces upon delivery was the exact compensation we needed for a long days worth of work. As the years passed, I made a career out of baking and decorating cakes, so our Christmas baking days have become far and few between. But, the craftsmanship that was put into every morsel has guided my outlook and priorities in my own family and my business.

Although this life that I described may seem like it’s a thing of the past, I believe that all things can be made new, revived, and brought back to life with an even greater flair and purpose than ever before. Just as I am thrilled to revive these timeless traditions and dessert recipes for my own family, I can’t wait to share them with you, as well!  Join me on a journey to simpler times and a sweet, SWEET REVIVAL.
